Our governor is a complete moron.

He's refusing the 700 million dollars in stimulus money, 80% of which would go toward education. I can't count on one hand the number of schools that have already closed JUST AROUND ME. 4,000 teachers will be fired because he won't accept the money.

Oh, and he claims that accepting the money would be fiscal child abuse.
wtf.
http://thinkprogress.org/2009/03/31/sanford-child-abuse/

I understand the debt thing, but the point of this money is to get us back on our feet. Instead the solution apparently is to just close schools and fire a shit ton of teachers. Because that's really in our kids' best interest.

/rant.

.... )

So today's my birthday.
Yay?
I hung out by myself until my boyfriend got home from work around 5. He gave me a book journal! It's exactly what I wanted. I didn't know they even had anything specifically for keeping track of that sort of thing. I'm in love with it. He also took me out for dinner and ice cream and we're going to see a movie on Sunday. We're going to my mom's tomorrow. Woohoo, driving. Oh well I guess. Seeing my mom is never a bad thing, despite the drive. Plus I'm making more pumpkin apple streusel muffins!

So I'm finally back from SCAD.
I didn't have my digital camera until Friday night when my mom came down, so I'll start there.
(I'll be scanning in the pictures I took during the week after I get them developed.)

Okay, so, the exhibition.
It was at the Savannah Station and was absolutely grand.

Yeah yeah. They are kind of big. Oops. )

So I just bought these four pair of plugs for $21:
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Not bad considering I usually pay $10-20 for one pair.
I was really just looking for the Tigers Eye ones, but they alone were like 10, and I wanted the Unakite (green and pink ones) also, so I figured I might as well. Yeah, no one ever sees them, but that's not really the point.

I need to quit buying crap.
Kris gives me another $80 on Thursday and I get paid on Friday though, so I guess I'll be alright.
That $80 is for SCAD though. I already have some to take with me. I'm hoping that, since they only said we need to bring quarters for vending machines and laundry, and they feed us, I'll have a good portion of that left to blow when I get back. Cause that'd be cool.

Anyhow, I've got to go to Mrs. LeBlanc's. It's 9:50.

Hands )

Yeah so the assignment was to have at least 2 hands doing something, white colored pencil on black paper, chiaroscuro shading. That's why parts of hands are just black and there appear to be pieces, mainly on the the top hand, just floating around. Ill probably go in later and make the highlights lighter so there will be more contrast. I also see a few other minor things Ill probably go in and change as well, but it was due today so that's how it is right now.

I think I still might do a portrait of Rupert Grint. Because I'm lame.

You'll be loved, you'll be loved
Like you never have known
And memories of me
Will seem more like bad dreams
Just a series of blurs
Like I never occurred
Someday you will be loved

You may feel alone when you're falling asleep
And every time tears roll down your cheeks
But I know your heart belongs to someone you've yet to meet
And someday you will be loved

I’ll say it straight and plain
I know I’ve made mistakes
I’ve always been afraid
A thousand nights or more
I’ve traveled east and north
Please answer your door

You say that love goes anywhere
From your darkest time
It’s just enough to know it's there
When you go ill let you be
But you’re killing everything in me

Get down on your knees
Whisper what I need
Something pretty
I feel that when I’m old
I’ll look at you and know
The world was beautiful

I just got done reading The Catcher in the Rye, which was seriously amazing.
And now I really want to read some Harry Potter and my friend still has my books.

Uhh.. nothing else, really. My internet's been down. I got a haircut. I miss people. Sort of.

The first thing I did when I got off at Penn Station, I went into this phone booth. I felt like giving somebody a buzz. I left my bags right outside the phone booth so I could watch them, but as soon as I was inside, I couldn't think of anybody to call up. My brother D.B. was in Hollywood. My kid sister Pheobe goes to bed around nine o'clock - so I couldn't call her up. She wouldn't've cared if I'd woke her up, but the trouble was, she wouldn't've been the one to answer the phone. My parents would be the ones. So that was out. Then I thought of giving Jane Gallagher's mother a buzz, and find out when Jane's vacation started, but I didn't feel like it. Besides, it was pretty late to call up. Then I thought of calling this girl I used to go around with quite frequently, Sally Hayes, because I knew her Christmas vacation had started already...but I was afraid her mother'd answer the phone....Then I thought of calling up this guy that went to the Whooton School when I was there, Carl Luce, but I didn't like him much. So I ended up not calling anybody. I came out of the booth, after about twenty minutes or so, and got my bags and walked over to that tunnel where the cabs are and got a cab.

So, that's how I've been feeling lately, if that makes any sense.

I know, I know, I update too much.
And you guys are probably getting tired of these. It's too bad I don't care.
I needed something to make me feel better. )
You can kind of see my bruise. It's on my left cheek. It's just kind of yellow. I'm glad it's not dark. That could be awkward.

I finished a book and started a new one today. I finished Chinese Handcuffs by Chris Crutcher. It was amazing, of course, but I dont think I liked it as much as Staying Fat For Sarah Byrnes. I started The She by Carol Plum-Ucci. Im only about 20 pages into it, but so far it's reminding me of a book I read in middle school. I can't remember what it's called for the life of me. I think it started with a W. Hmm.

Im glad I'm done worrying about my Geometry and 2-D Design tests. And Im glad I got my project for Geometry done. I feel a lot better now. I still have a quiz to make up tomorrow morning (I have to leave the house at like 7 :/), but at least that way it wont be hanging over me during the weekend.

Yay, Secret Lives/Classic Case/Across Five Aprils tomorrow.

It's Friday. Which makes me extremely happy.

So if I've gathered anything from these two days of school, most of my homework is going to be for Geometry (Oh, what a surprise.) and Regional Studies. And drawings for Mace.

Geometry is hard. Or maybe it's just my teacher. Im going with the latter.

I go to the store with my mom soon. I forgot what exactly we were going shopping for, but I dont guess that matters.

I try for my restricted tomorrow :]. I hope I pass.
